Vinyasa Yoga is one of the most ancient forms of Yoga. Yoga Ashtanga is the name for eight-limbed Yoga. Ashtanga Yoga has its origin at the text called Yoga Korunta. Special institutes are opened for teaching Astanga Yoga. Astanga Yoga series was learned by British gymnastics and Indian wrestlers. Ashtanga Yoga forms were taught by Guru Rama Mohan Brahmachari to Krishnamacharya at Mount Kailash. Krishnamacharya has given many forms to the Power Yoga. Vinyasa Yoga series was taught by Krishnamachary to many of his students like Indra Devi, B.K.S. Iyengar, K. Pattabhi Jois.
Vinyasa Yoga is said to be a physical demanding practice. Vinyasa Yoga is good in channeling the activities of young minds. Vinyasa Yoga is also used to calm down your minds and lessen your stress. Vinyasa Yoga helps you to redirect your attention to internal senses. Vinyasa Yoga means linking of movement of breath. Vinyasa Yoga creates a flow for tradition Power Yoga.
Yoga Ashtanga has eight series of postures combined with breathing pattern. Ashtanga Yoga increases circulation of blood and sweating which helps to purify your body. Astanga Yoga increases flexibility. Ashtanga Yoga makes your tissue strength hard. Power Yoga is taught to students with reduced risk of injuries. The eight limbs of Yoga Ashtanga is called as Yama which means moral codes. The second Ashtanga Yoga limb is Niyama known for self-purification and study. Third and fourth one is Asana called for postures and Pranayama for breath control. Fifth one is known for Pratyahara that is sense control. Sixth Astanga Yoga is Dharana for concentration. Seventh is Dhyana that is meditation. And the last form of Astanga Yoga is Samadhi that is contemplation.
The first four limbs of Yoga Ashtanga are used for external cleansing. Yoga Ashtanga for the next four limbs is for internal practices. Power Yoga can be dangerous to your minds if not done rightly. Power Yoga should be done correctly. Yoga Ashtanga is very powerful and should be done accurately. |
